Where is my rekordbox license code?

That’s a great question — but the good news is, you don’t need one anymore!

In older versions of rekordbox, a license code was required to activate the software. But with the release of rekordbox version 7, that’s all changed. Now, the hardware is the license.

If you’ve purchased a new Pioneer DJ or AlphaTheta controller, mixer, media player or all-in-one system, simply connect it to your computer via USB and rekordbox will automatically unlock Performance Mode — no codes, no hassle.

This is one of the best quality-of-life updates rekordbox has introduced. It means you can:

• Install rekordbox on as many computers as you like
• Upgrade your computer or OS without losing access
• Sell or swap your gear without worrying about license transfers

One thing to be aware of: when you first install rekordbox, it will begin a free 30-day trial of the Core Plan. Don’t worry — your controller will still unlock Performance Mode during and after the trial, even if you don’t subscribe.

Just plug in and start mixing. Simple as that.
